La chapelle de Guinchay is the administrative centre of the canton. Ot is at the most southerly end of the Saône et Loire department, bordering on both the Ain and the Rhone departments.The vineyards of two appellations spread ver the hillsides : Cru Chénas and Beaujolais Villages. This is a thriving village with growing commercial and artisan activities.
